But, anyway, biceps are like icing on a cake, the cake might have a weak core or doesn't taste good but it looks delicious. With that being said, If you're a guy and a primary goal of yours is to look delicious in efforts of finding the one, read on carefully about how to build bigger, stronger, and cut biceps.

DON'T BE THE GUY WHO ONLY DOES ARMS

Inside of all of us, there is the little guy who is always eager and ecstatic about arms day, but unfortunately, he suffers from memory loss. Hence, everyday he believes that it is arm's day and he whispers constantly in your ears, "DO ARMS! DO ARMS!" but you must fight, conquer that voice. Our muscle fibers needs tearing in order to build, but in order to build, it needs time to recover. The common mistake amongst gym goers is doing arms excessively everyday and expecting great results. But no great result will come from overworking your arms, you must let it rest and rebuild.

Focus on strength, Not Muscle parts

How often do you hear someone say, I'm starting to workout so "I can get stronger" as oppose to I'm going to the gym so "I can look better". Looks are temporary and even the greatest looking individual is not superior because health is more imperative. Therefore, treat your body like a prized possession but don't make it your primary goal to sell it like a material possession. With that being said, focus on building strength in all areas, especially your back and shoulders as those will determine how strong your arms will become. Think of your body as a home, your arms are the doors and the rest of your body are the walls. In order to put sturdy doors up front, the walls must be built. Here's some tips on how to start building your wall:

  1. Add pull ups to your workouts: Pull ups are very effective as they help build back strength, strengthen core and help you when doing heavier sets with biceps or any other muscle group.

  2. Deadlift and Squat: Fundamental exercises that will increase strength in all areas are pivotal when looking to build strong biceps and triceps.

"The Arm Workout"

By now, you're probably wondering why I've told you to do everything else but train your arms.. Be patient, the secret to building bigger, stronger and cut arms is very simple: Shock your muscles and switch it up. The typical guy knows about four arm exercises and three of them are variations of the bicep curl. The reason why you're lifting excessively and not getting results is because you've been unconsciously running a routine of the same exercises every week. Muscle fibers are like 3rd graders, they need to be entertained or else they will not grow, your muscles reach a plateau when it can no longer grow. A plateau is defined as a state of little or no change following a period of activity or progress. So instead of working hard with exercises that are hardly working, follow some of the tips below:

  • Bicep curl is not the only exercise for Ams- Increase your creativity when training your arms, try doing straight arm planks and move in a lateral direction and decide if it was an arm work out or not and Let Me Know.

  • Test your balance- Try doing exercises on uneven terrains or objects like a BOSU ball or on one leg.

  • Switch up the intensity- Some days, do more reps and less weight and switch up to more weight, less reps. Ex. Monday- 12 reps /50 lbs, 10 Reps 5/5 lbs, 8 reps /60 lbs Thursdays- 8 Reps /60 lbs. 6 Reps /65 lbs 4 reps /70 lbs

  • Switch up equipment used: Free Weights, Barbells, Resistance, Body weight - Different equipment shocks the muscles in different ways, thus, this is very effective in building bigger and stronger arms.
